SmartCare

In the UK, there are over 600,000 people aged 90 or over. 18% of the population is over 65 years old. The media is full of stories of the NHS being at crisis point.

Digital, Wearable and IoT Technology

We are facing a major problem in how to cope with an ageing population.

Using the latest advances in digital and wearable technology, SmartCare is a TBS solution that facilitates the remote monitoring of people and environments to detect movements and events, which then automatically sends alerts to carers, medical staff or family so that remedial action can be taken and help given. 24/7, 365 days a year.

It helps people live their lives; it helps organisations cut down on wasted hours, processes and products.

Through the operation of TBS’s TaskMaster Enterprise Mobility Platform TaskMaster: SmartCare, the system can be configured to exactly the needs of the user.

That can be at home, making sure the elderly or people needing assistance are following their daily routine, with low-cost wireless sensors alerting a third party (for example a family member or healthcare professional) in the event, for example, of a kettle or television not being turned on, of no movement being detected; whatever might be outside their normal behaviour.

Using voice technology, it can set alerts for medication to be taken at certain times of the day or a reminder of important appointments. And there is the panic button, worn round the neck and which pressed once sends an urgent alert to those who need to know.

It can be in hospital to monitor a fall from bed or an end to end traceable medication journey, from pharmacy to patient.

A full history of events is captured with dashboard visualisations, exception reports, real-time alerts through SMS with task allocation to care workers so that remedial activity details are captured.

The TaskMaster Platform integrates with internet of things (IoT) technologies such as Samsung SmartThings to remotely monitor through a wide range of wireless sensors, aggregating the data within the TaskMaster Platform for analysis and the automated driving of subsequent activities through its task allocation capabilities.

Additionally, the platform integrates with voice activated services, allowing people to communicate remotely by voice through technology.

People, Environment & Asset Monitoring / Tracking

The remote monitoring of people and their environments, such as a hospital, care home or their own home, using sensors, smart plugs and other technologies.

Everything – people and equipment – can be tracked with IoT sensors to monitor utilisation / location etc.. We can visualise this information geographically on a building schematic and produce all the necessary dashboards / reports.

Healthcare professional, Task Automation & Audit

Empowering your staff and keeping them up to date, TaskMaster can be configured to set up recurring tasks / repeatable rounds of tasks / IoT automated tasks and send them to the appropriate healthcare professionals, filtering right down to knowing who is on shift and who is available, and then using Alexa voice technology contacting them.

It acknowledges and actions, capturing key information in real-time and sharing task status, GPS location and ultimately the task conclusion details. Intuitive data entry, image capture with everything date/time-stamped allows for the ultimate audit trail. Routing of returned task information can be sent as an SMS, email, dashboard report or passed back into the system through TaskMaster’s simple web services.

Integrated Lone Worker Safety Controls

Ensuring the safety of your staff is critical, especially if they are working alone. SmartCare lone worker mode monitors the worker and triggers automatic alerts depending on the configuration, such as a lack of movement, which alerts the back office to a status change, asking the user if they are ok and requiring a specific response. If no response is given, a phased escalation can take place, right through to a call being made and GPS location captured and shared.

Additionally, SmartCare offers integration with 3rd Party lone worker features with a bureau service monitoring and actioning.

Pharmacy Distribution, Tracking & Audit

SmartCare offers a workflow that captures pharmaceutical asset details, such as medication or trolleys, and tracks the movement and distribution of these throughout the healthcare environment, providing a full traceable and auditable journey of the medication from pharmacy to patient, reporting back from when the medication left the pharmacy to the moment it is administered.

It helps avoid drug wastage by innovative stock taking and reporting, allowing unused drugs left somewhere to be put to use elsewhere, saving time and money. Benefits include helping to alleviate the risks of medication loss and misallocation. This is barcode driven, captured through the integration camera or scanner.
